Once the roof repairs have been completed and any mortar replacement has been allowed to cure effectively we can move onto Stage 3 of the roof refurbishment process.

With favourable weather conditions, no rain forecast for that day, and with a preselected coloured Climashield™ roof coating supplied by Smartseal UK Ltd, one of the UK's leading specialist sealant suppliers, the contractor can prime the area for this specialist roof coating application.

With all sensitive areas fully protected the process begins with a through application of a high quality biocide to ensure any remaining sub surface moss and algae growth is eradicated,whilst the roof coating has in built inhibitors to restrict future green growth this "belt and braces" application is extremely effective and worthwhile. Once this has dried sufficiently the cutting in by hand of the roof boundaries can proceed prior to the utilisation of an airless sprayer to apply the first of two coats of product to the roof.

This first base coat application is applied in much heavier quantities than the second as the concrete roof tiles pores are fully open following the roof cleaning and therefore need to be sealed effectively with the correct quantities of roof coating.

For customers with clay tiles or slates it is recommended that a clear sealer is applied to ensure longevity of the colour enhancing attributes to these natural stone products is maximised.

Once the first coat has dried then a second coating is applied to further enhance the colour and increase the protective nature of Climashield™. Once this second coat has been cured and with the site fully tidied this completes the roof refurbishment process.
